I walked up armadillo hill...

I really liked the lyrical sound cadence of "armadillo hill" today. Just a single line like that surfaces at times.

I think it's great to create your OWN songs or lyrical mantra lines of personal resonance of the language. There's something really calming and centering about it.

Is there a phrase or line that recently stuck in your mind as lyrical?

Second Surrogacy. I have no idea what to do with it, but I like the sound of it.

"Second Surrogacy" has that characteristic of getting the mind to wrestle with the meaning. That's why I think two word play like that is a constant enjoyment wherever I am. Just combine two words and see what happens. Often it creates surprising results or great soundplay. I always like exchanging lists of wordcombos.

I used to string together oddly beautiful and pseudo-nonsensical words together as a teenager to create a surreal little chant I'd say in my head when the ol' brain-fluid seas were gettin' a bit choppy. Great way to calm down and center, like you said. I forgot what the chant was...I just remember bits and pieces of it now.

Yes, very calming and in a way a nice euphoria from words that seem to resonate. It doesn't take a lot of words either to find something that surprises or has a nice soundplay. It's nice to short-circuit the mind with nonsense to create our own sense of meaning.

I came up with the following a few years ago, it's compromised of vague references to things. I've used it in several art projects and it also found a home in a game project of mine:

the monkeys ate my soul
the children at the monkeys
free the children
free my soul

---

Another phrase I really enjoy came to light a couple of weeks ago in Planetside, when they were kicking off a three year anniversary event. The opening text included the term: "ruinous commotion imminent"

It looks almost like a haiku that becomes a mantra. It could be an offshoot for another branch of writing.

I really like that threeword combo "ruinous commotion imminent". Very mindcatching and similar to what I like to do with words/combos.

i can tell you a phrase that i thought was beautiful. it's from watership down; it's what the rabbits say when one of them dies:

"my heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today." and i think that's just so beautiful.

We are part of a growing national consensus that the United Kingdom’s energy policy is unbalanced, and that the drive for renewable energy generation has been inadequately planned, a fact that has resulted in a developer-led industrial feeding-frenzy that is http://www.squidoo.com/tits-big neither green nor sustainable. It is improbable that this current broad-scale industrialisation of the countryside will bring about any significant reductions in the emissions of greenhouse gases or meet the long-term energy needs of the UK (as laid out in the Feb 2003
